Job Description
Manage software assets within the ServiceNow platform with a strong focus on compliance, cost optimization, and end-to-end lifecycle management. The role involves configuring and managing the SAM Pro module, integrating data sources, creating insightful reports, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure efficient software utilization, reduce risk, and support audits and renewals.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Management
- Implement, configure, and maintain ServiceNow SAM Pro modules, workflows, and integrations (REST/SOAP)
- Customize the platform using scripts, business rules, and UI policies
Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitor software usage and identify compliance gaps
- Manage software entitlements and support vendor audits
- Handle licensing compliance for major vendors such as Microsoft and Adobe
Cost Optimization
- Identify and deliver cost savings through license optimization
- Manage software renewals and eliminate unused or underutilized licenses
Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the complete software lifecycle: procurement, deployment, usage, optimization, and retirement
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop dashboards and reports for compliance status, usage trends, and cost analysis
- Provide actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with IT, Procurement, Legal, and Finance teams to align SAM practices with business objectives
Technical Expertise
- Build custom scripts using JavaScript
- Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs
- Provide technical guidance and best practices for SAM implementation
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 6+ years of experience on the ServiceNow platform
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro
Technical Skills
- JavaScript & ServiceNow scripting
- REST/SOAP API integrations
- ITIL framework knowledge
Domain Knowledge
- Deep understanding of software licensing models (Microsoft, Adobe, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of ITAM / SAM best practices
Certifications (Preferred)
- ServiceNow CSA
- CIS-SAM / CSAM
- ITIL Foundation
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
