Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior MongoDB Database Administrator to join our team. With over 8 years of expertise, you will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and optimization of our production database environments. This role requires a deep understanding of both SQL and NoSQL architectures, a proactive approach to performance tuning, and the ability to drive automation across our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

•Database Architecture & Administration: Architect, implement, secure, and optimize MongoDB, MariaDB, and MySQL environments to ensure peak performance.

•Collaboration: Work closely with Development and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to support robust data storage and reporting platforms.

•Performance Management: Manage database scalability, availability, and reliability, ensuring high uptime for critical business systems.

•Automation: Lead automation initiatives using Python and Shell scripting to streamline database operations and deployments.

•Incident Response: Participate in a 24×7 on-call support rotation, handling critical production incidents and troubleshooting complex database issues.

Technical Requirements

•Core Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB and MySQL administration in high-traffic production environments.

•Database Diversity: Proven experience managing PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cassandra, and various other SQL/NoSQL databases.

•Operations: Mastery of database installation, configuration, monitoring, backup, recovery, replication, and performance tuning.

•Architecture: Deep understanding of SQL/NoSQL architectures and modern database frameworks.

•Infrastructure: Solid knowledge of Linux administration and networking principles.

•Scripting: Proficiency in automation and scripting using Python, Shell, or Perl.

•High Availability: Experience supporting highly available database clusters and resolving production-level bottlenecks.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)

•Experience with Elasticsearch and Redis.

•Exposure to Big Data ecosystems and distributed database environments.

•Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA).

Education

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical education/work experience.
