About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Varicent BSA/QA Consultant with strong expertise in Varicent Incentive Compensation Management (ICM/SPM), quality assurance, and business systems analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating Varicent solutions, ensuring data accuracy, supporting compensation plan testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality incentive compensation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Validation
- Design, coordinate, and execute functional, integration, system, and regression testing for Varicent ICM components including:
- Composer
- Reports
- Web Forms
- Data Modules
- Validate end-to-end business processes and ensure system reliability.
Data Validation & SQL Testing
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate end-to-end ETL data flow from source systems such as SAP ECC/S/4HANA and Salesforce (SFDC) into Varicent.
- Perform data reconciliation and identify inconsistencies across systems.
Compensation Plan Testing
- Validate incentive compensation plans, including:
- Calculation logic
- Commission rules
- Quotas
- Pay components
- Adjustments and exceptions
- Ensure compensation outputs align with business requirements.
Automation & Test Optimization
- Identify opportunities to build automated test scripts for regression and repetitive testing cycles.
- Improve testing efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Defect Management
- Identify, log, track, and resolve defects using tools such as:
- Jira
- HP ALM
- Azure DevOps (preferred)
Environment Migration Support
- Support migration of:
- Calculations
- Tables
- Reports
- Configuration artifacts
across Development, SIT, UAT, and Production environments.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Business Analysts
- Developers
- Sales Operations Teams
- Compensation Analysts
- Clarify business requirements and resolve functional/technical issues.
Documentation
- Create and maintain:
- Test plans
- Test cases
- Defect reports
- Validation documentation
- QA sign-off reports
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 5–10 years of professional software QA / testing experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Varicent ICM/SPM development, QA, or support
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL (mandatory)
- Experience with:
- Data validation
- ETL methodologies
- Database testing
- Knowledge of JavaScript / Python is a plus
Varicent Expertise
- Hands-on experience with:
- Varicent Composer
- Data Manager
- Reports
- Web Forms
- Calculation Models
Domain Knowledge
Strong understanding of:
