Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in SQL and PostgreSQL to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and database systems. The ideal candidate should have experience handling large-scale datasets, optimizing complex queries, and implementing ETL processes to support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable SQL and PostgreSQL data models and pipelines.
• Write efficient and complex SQL queries to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
• Maintain and enhance PostgreSQL databases including performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Implement ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and validation.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all datasets and systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues and ensure high availability.
• Automate data engineering workflows and optimize data infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to data engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL and PostgreSQL development and administration.
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, or custom scripts.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud-native PostgreSQL solutions (e.g., Amazon RDS, Aurora, Google Cloud SQL).
• Experience working with large-scale datasets in structured and semi-structured formats.
• Knowledge of data warehousing principles and dimensional data modeling.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi).
• Familiarity with other data technologies like BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
